Ingredients
- 1 cup raw buckwheat groats
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 3 apples
- 1¼ cups walnuts
- 1⁄3 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1 cup raisins
- 1⁄2 cup shredded coconut
- 1⁄4 cup poppy seeds
- 3 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 organic orange zest
- 1⁄4 tsp grated nutmeg
- 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup orange juice
How to Make It
- Soak the buckwheat groats and the sunflower seeds overnight. Place in a sieve, and rinse under cold running water. Lay them out on paper towels to drain.
- Cut the apples into quarters and remove the cores. Place the pieces of apple, the walnuts, and the pumpkin seeds into a food processor and chop them coarsely. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Using your hand, mix in the remaining ingredients apart from the orange juice. Pour the orange juice into the bowl, and allow the mixture to soak for about 30 minutes.
- Spread out the mixture on the dehydrating trays. Put the trays into the food dehydrator. Drying times vary, but, dried at 104°F (40°C), the muesli will usually take between 7 and 8 hours to dry. Once dry, break up the larger clumps, as needed.
