Ingredients
- 1 cup green candy melts
- 6 Oreo cookies
- 1 tube of green gel icing
- 1 tube of green gel icing
- 1⁄4 -1⁄2 cup graham cracker crumbs, optional
How to Make It
- Melt green candy melts in a candy melting electric pot according to package instructions, or in the microwave at 30-second increments.
- Dip your Oreo cookies into the melted chocolate using a candy melt dipping scoop or fork and cover completely. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens, approximately 5 minutes.
- Using the melted chocolate and small cake-decorating paintbrushes, paint six turtle heads about 1 inch long and 1⁄2 inch wide and twelve fins that are 1⁄2 inch long on a piece of parchment paper. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens, approximately 2–3 minutes.
- Attach the fins and head of the turtle to the bottom of the dipped Oreo cookies, using your cake-decorating paintbrushes and melted chocolate as a glue.
- Place turtles on Silpat or parchment paper and place in refrigerator until chocolate has hardened, approximately 5 minutes.
- Using the green gel icing, pipe a turtle shell design on the top of each turtle’s back. Top with sprinkles if you desire.
- If desired, lay your graham cracker crumbs on a plate or platter and use the crumbs as a fun way to display the Oreo Turtles in the sand.
