Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 large onion cut up small
- 2 garlic cloves or 1 teaspoon from a jar
- 2 tablespoons chilli powder optional
- salt and pepper to taste
- 800 g mince
- 1 can tomatoes with herbs or chilli added
- 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
- Lettuce iceberg is crunchy
- Carrot, grated
- Cheese, grated
- Chopped tomatoes and cucumber if wanted
- 8 large taco shells
How to Make It
- Heat the oil in a large fry pan and add onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic, salt and pepper and chilli powder Cook for another 30 seconds.
- Stir in the beef mince. Cook, stirring mince to break up until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the can of tomatoes and sugar. Simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Divide the filling evenly among taco shells add lettuce, carrot and cheese.
