Fresh Italian flavored fish steaks topped with the most amazing basil aioli.
Ingredients
For the cod
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 8 cod steaks
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
For the Basil Aioli
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
- 1 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 egg yolks
- Salt and pepper
How to Make It
- In a large shallow bowl, combine the minced garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Add in the fish steaks and marinate for at least an hour.
- In the meantime, place basil leaves, 2 tbsp. olive oil, minced garlic, egg yolks and lemon juice and process until smooth. Stream in the remaining olive oil and process until smooth. Add in water, if needed. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat, cook fish for 3-4 minutes on each side. Serve with basil aioli. Enjoy!
